Accusations are stressful issues for an RN or LVN, except when a Dallas nurse attorney assists you against the case. The Texas Board of Nurses is responsible for all hearings against RNs and LVNs undergoing a case that may revoke suspend or only discipline their license. Take note that a nurse attorney in Dallas can also defend a nurse’s license against accusations.

On or about January 15, 2016, through April 26, 2016, while employed as a Registered Nurse in Dallas, the RN inaccurately documented nursing notes for the following five patients.

The RN copied and pasted her nursing notes verbatim other than vital signs in the narrative section of the medical note, and also used notes documented by other nurses and social workers instead of documenting her own assessment of the patients.

The RN’s conduct resulted in inaccurate medical records that exposed the patients unnecessarily to the risk of harm in that subsequent caregivers would rely on her documentation to provide further care.

On or about April 22, 2016, the RN failed to document a nursing note in the medical record of a patient. Her conduct resulted in an inaccurate medical record that exposed the patient unnecessarily to the risk of harm in that subsequent caregivers would rely on her documentation to provide further care.

During the hearing, the RN, states she considered “copy and paste” to be a valuable tool to be able to have all notes synced in by 8:30 AM the next workday. She states she did copy and paste from previous notes but never did it thinking that she was being deceitful. The RN stated she did not leave the agency with unfinished or missing notes.

However, without the proper help from a good defense nurse attorney, the RN lost the case and she was disciplined and suspended.

The Texas Board of Nursing then subjected the RN and her license into disciplinary action. The accusation would have been defended by an experienced and skilled nurse attorney, had the RN hired one. Hiring a nurse attorney for defense is applicable for any kind of accusation laid against an RN or LVN.
